About Me

Howdy from the great state of Texas! I'm proud to be from the Lone Star State. I love the wide blue skies, beautiful beaches, parched deserts, bluebonnets and tumbleweeds. And just in case you are wondering, yes, I wish I had a Stetson, I do own cowboy boots, and my husband drives a pickup truck. LOL!

Texas - Home of Cattle Ranches, Oil Wells and the Dallas Cowboys!

Texas is a beautiful state!

Want to know a little more about me? In my free time, I look forward to weekends spent exploring estate sales, antiquing, and shopping at farmer's markets. I enjoy trying new recipes and cooking for family and friends. I especially love spending time with my husband and daughter and am an admitted Netflix addict.

My family and I love getting up early on Saturday mornings and shopping for farm fresh produce at the local Farmer's Market. It isn't a large market, but we can buy fresh eggs and a variety of healthy veggies! It motivates us to try to eat a variety of healthy fruits and vegetables each week.  And we need all the help we can get!!

Professionally, I have had over 25 years experience in education. In that time, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. I am currently an Instructional Coach who works closely with teachers in PK-5th grade. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with Certification in Reading and a Master of Science in Administration with Principal Certification.

What are my beliefs and philosophy? I was born to be an educator. It is all I have ever wanted to do and is an important part of my life. Professional learning and continuing to grow as an educator is a must. I believe it is important to create a positive, caring and nurturing environment where student centered learning is the focus. I believe that hands-on, activity based, engaging work provides students with the building blocks to reach high levels of achievement. I believe all students are capable of learning, and it is a teacher's job to help them make as much growth as possible.

The moment I don't love it, I know that will be the time for me to retire. Sometimes the school or classroom can feel like a jungle. Despite all the challenges, I strive to stay upbeat, positive and motivated. Building relationships, remaining enthusiastic and keeping the positive energy going is my goal each day. Sometimes it isn't easy, but it is always worth it!

Thanks for Dropping By.....
